We did it again!

It’s all about keeping the clients happy, and we at the NRBA never let them down.

Photo 23 Every August, the CMBA Mortgage Servicing Conference is held here in Las Vegas.  As all good REO Brokers know, REO is part of mortgage servicing; hence, all of the major players in the industry are here in town that week.

For three years in a row, the NRBA members have sponsored an event for our clients to show our appreciation for all of the business that they have given us.

This year, we wanted to make it the most memorable event ever.  We held the party at the House of Blues Foundation Room, considered by many to be the most exclusive private club in Las Vegas.

To reach the Foundation Room’s exalted location on the penthouse floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip, our “banker” guests were escorted up via the Club’s private elevator.

Upon entering the Club, everyone was treated to cocktails on the open balconies while they enjoyed stunning nighttime views of the Las Vegas valley and the magnificent light show that is the Strip itself.

The evening started off on a high note and then seemed to just keep climbing, as old friends and new continued to arrive and the cocktails kept flowing.  We’re sure that the noise and laughter could be heard down on the street, fifty stories below!

Photo 26 Afterwards, we brought them all into one of the private dining rooms where we pampered them with a gourmet repast, whilst a solo harpist set the mood by playing classical melodies in the background.

As each course was brought out, the servers exchanged our wine glasses and poured a new vintage that had been especially selected by the chef as the appropriate accompaniment for that course.

The cocktail service had begun at 8:30 that evening, and even though we had been seated for dinner at 9:30 and dessert was long finished by 11:00 p.m., the guests were still drinking and laughing as midnight approached.  As the waiters and waitresses were asking to go home, the manager politely asked us if we were ready to leave…

Rather than end what was obviously still a great party, we had a little “chat” with the bartenders and they reopened the lounge for us!  We may have started a new trend, as we were now throwing two cocktail parties—one before dinner and a second one after.

Photo 45 As 2:00 a.m. approached, the bartenders were ready to go home and let us know that it was time for last call.  But we still had several guests remaining that were still having a great time and reluctant to call it a night!

Rather than end the party, we simply moved it downstairs to the House of Blues’ late-night club, where some of the guests were still partying until after 3:00 a.m.

From the comments and calls that we received afterwards, this NRBA event will probably go down in history as the best party ever thrown at a banking conference.

For the final tally, we had sixty-one “banker” guests to dinner and at least another thirty or so that joined us for cocktails either before or after the dinner.

As to who was actually there, we entertained guests from:
