The NRBA Party has continually grown and is now
easily considered the best event in the industry each
year. |
This was our 4th year in a row for
hosting our Las Vegas “Bash” during the CMBA Loan Servicing
Conference. |
As always – the party was by invitation only,
with only NRBA members, and invited guests being allowed up to
the club. |
This was our second year hosting the party at
“The Foundation Room”, by far the most exclusive club in Las
Vegas. The Foundation Room is located on the top floor of the
Mandalay Bay Hotel on the famed Las Vegas Strip. Access is by
private elevator only. |
Again, we had to have extra security added and
there were over a dozen individuals attempting to “crash” our
party. Most of who were “non-NRBA” brokers that were just
dying to get “in” with our clients. |
This was one for the record books. By the end of
the night we had over 230 people at our party - Over ¾ of
which were bankers and asset managers, representing over 50 different banks,
and REO outsourcing companies.
As near as we could tell, we easily had the
people that control well over 100,000 REO listings across the
country right there in the club with us that night.
As each guest exited the private elevator and
entered the club – they were greeted with trays of assorted
martinis, followed by additional servers offering a variety of
appetizers, including, shrimp, caviar and smoked salmon.
From there they were free to circulate through
the club, and spend some time on the private balconies. Both
of which face directly onto Las Vegas Boulevard and are
considered to offer the best views in the city of the famed
“Las Vegas Strip”. |
After everyone had a chance
to enjoy the cocktails and hor’derves while the rest of the
guests arrived, the guests were called to dinner shortly after
10:00pm.
As at this point we were actually well over the
capacity of the Foundation Room, extra tables were set in not
only the main and auxiliary dinging rooms, but in each of the
smaller private dining rooms as well. |
Each of our guests was treated to a gourmet
repast, the atmosphere was open and friendly with many of the
guests “table-hopping” during dinner, each taking the
opportunity to catch up with old friends and to make many new
ones as well. |
Following dinner, another cocktail party ensued.
We learned this from the previous year’s party, as no one ever
wants to leave. So now – we just schedule additional bars and
throw a second cocktail party after dinner. |
We also added in some specialty bars offering
after-dinner liquors and cordials. In addition there were
several desert trays being passed. |
The party had begun at 8:00pm, from then on -
the drinks flowed, the food was incredible and almost no one
left until the very end (about 2:00am). |
We’ve received numerous calls, emails, and
thank-you cards from many of the clients that attended.
Without a doubt this last party will go down as the best one
ever thrown by anyone at a conference. |
It’s more than that though. It was about
friendship, it was about respect, and it was about us giving
something back and doing something for the clients.
Over a third of the clients that came to the party didn’t
even stay for the CMBA conference – they came all the way to
Las Vegas – just to attend our party. That really says
something about who we are at the NRBA and about the
relationships that we have with so many of the
clients. |
In the end – this means that much more business
for all of us in the years ahead. |
